FACILITIES? CHECK IT OUT!

Every university, no matter public ones or private ones, will offer their best facilities to students. Good facilities encourage students to study in a better way. Without facilities, students tend to move out from that university. However, not to worry, this kind of thing would not happen because every university has already prepared their facilities for students.

UNIVERSITY OF MALAYA

 Campus Facilities:

·         UM Cooperative Book Shop

The University of Malaya Cooperative Book Shop Ltd. supplies a wide variety of books and stationery equipment available for sale to the university staff, students and the public.
The Co-op offers books in a wide variety of genres, from text and reference books to fiction books and magazines. Staff & students can also utilize the Special Books Inquiries service provided by the Co-op book shop to track down specialty or difficult to find books. The Co-op can also arrange orders of local and overseas publications.

·         Financial & Banking Services

There are many banking services scattered around the University campus which provide banking facilities and services to students, staff and visitors. Bank Bumiputra Commerce Berhad is situated at the Bursa Building, Bank Simpanan Nasional is located at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Bank Islam at the Examination Complex. Additionally, ATMs are available at strategic locations around the University.
Students can apply for the National Higher Education (PTPTN) Fund. There are three banking services on campus which facilitate this; Bank Bumiputra Commerce Berhad, Bank Islam Berhad and Bank Simpanan Nasional.

·         Rumah Universiti

      Rumah Universiti is located opposite the Chancellery building in the heart of the University of Malaya campus, and is one of the most popular lodging choices for visitors to UM. The rooms are comfortable with deluxe rooms, executive rooms and suites to be had at incredibly low prices.
It is also a perfect venue to hold seminars, workshops and meetings that can accommodate up to 170 participants at one time, with air conditioned rooms equipped with audio-visual equipment including televisions and video playback equipment, over-head projectors, amplifiers and so forth, all at a reasonable rate.
Rumah Universiti's restaurants, under the joint supervision of Chef Azman & his 16 years experience in the hospitality industry also provide the perfect excuse for making this the place to stay at UM. The restaurants serve delicious meals at very affordable prices with a variety of menus prepared specially everyday. Additionally, Rumah Universiti also provides an assortment of special packages to make it even more worth while.

·         Food Court & Catering Services

Food is a passion among Malaysians, and it shows in the variety of dishes available here at UM. From local cuisine to fine dining - there's a meal that will suit every discerning taste bud and appetite. Whether you're eating alone, dining with your friends & family or organising a large party, the food court & catering services at UM can cater to your specific needs.
There are many food courts scattered around campus grounds, and there is also Rumah Universiti which features world class buffets and set course meals under the supervision of Chef Azman. Additionally, all Residential Colleges, with the exception of the 10th and 11th Residential Colleges, have food courts and provide catering services.

·         Health Services
The physical and mental well-being of each of over 15,000 University students, faculty members and staff is an important consideration to the University, and this is reflected in the University’s commitment of expert, expedient and excellent health care for the staff and students.
From the Student Health Clinic which provides cheap health care for students of all levels, to the top class University of Malaya Medical Centre which offers its services to staff, students as well as the general public. Counselling services are also available.

·         Postal Services

Even in our digital age, some things are only achievable with real mail. Be it a letter, a postcard or a package, the Postal Services at UM deliver. The Post Office at UM is located in the lobby of Block A, Perdanasiswa Complex. Stamps, postcards and various parcels for the handling of fragile mail are available at the counters.
The post office also provides many other services including the paying of utility bills and ASTRO bills.

·         Security Office

Since its establishment in 1967, the University of Malaya Security Office is responsible for the safety and security of the University staff, students, premises as well as the various high-tech machinery and cutting edge research work on University grounds.
Patrolling the University's 750-acre compound nestled in between two extremely rapid development locations, Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya, offers unique challenges and requires quick reactions to protect everyone on campus from violent crime, theft, destruction of property, fire and more.
The Security Office is currently located in Block C, Raja Dr. Nazrin Shah Residential College (12th Residential College).

The University and the city of Shah Alam offer a range of indoor and outdoor sporting facilities e.g. futsal centers, swimming pool, basketball, takraw, badminton, fishing lake and orienteering programmes. 

Financial Advice

The University offers confidential financial counseling service to assist with advice on any type of financial difficulty, from basic budgeting to debt management. Specific advice is also available on educational scholarships and loans. 

Campus Hostel

Student need to observe the terms and conditions stated. Full payment of the hostel fee (monthly) is required if student were to register on the 1st to the 15th along of the month and half payment is required if registration is made on the 16th to the 31st along of the month.

Prayer Room

Muslims students may perform their prayers at the campus surau at block C. Friday prayers are performed here as well.

Laboratory

Well, both type of university offered good facilities for students. All of the facilities offered is for the students own goods.
